
Yael Newman, RAc, RTCMP, BHSc
Acupuncturist and Registered Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioner
Yael Newman is a graduate of the Acupuncture Program at the Michener Institute in Toronto. She holds a degree from Charles Sturt University in Health Sciences and Complementary Health Care. She also has further specialized training in cosmetic and facial acupuncture and pregnancy, labour and delivery. She has done internship at the Wasser Pain Management Centre at Mount Sinai Hospital and St. John’s Rehab at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre. She has been a speaker at the pharmacology grand rounds at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre and the Arts and Letters Club of Toronto. She has also guest lectured at The
Mitchener Institute of Education at UHN for many years.
Yael is a licensed Registered Acupuncturist (RAc) and Registered Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioner (RTCMP) of the College of Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners and Acupuncturists of Ontario (CTCMPAO) and a professional member and past director of membership of Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners Association of Canada (TCMPAC).
Yael has spent the last 20 years practicing acupuncture and traditional Chinese medicine within a medical practice doing shared care of patients with physicians. She also works with midwives and their clients providing maternal care. She has special interests in maternal health, geriatrics and facial rejuvenation.
Yael is passionate about the advancement of Chinese medicine into the mainstream and is an advocate and practitioner of complimentary health care. When not practicing Yael enjoys spending time with her husband, their four children and two dogs.
